Smuggling a Shipload of Hong Kong Lottery Tickets
As part of a recent news report, a Chinese media outlet explains that smugglers are using inland rivers to ship lottery tickets from Hong Kong to Macau and Mainland China. A shipment of 16K tickets was found on a boat sailing on September 21 and customs officials seized them.
This isn’t the first time that lottery smugglers have used inland rivers to send lottery tickets, but it’s the largest haul of them to date. The smugglers were caught on September 22 and have been sentenced to up to 7 years in prison, reports HK01, a local news site.
500,000 Airline Tickets Available for Travel to Hong Kong
Thousands of people across the globe are expected to apply for a chance to win one of 500,000 free airline tickets. The promotion will take place over a six-month period and will be distributed by airlines including Cathay Pacific, HK Express and Hong Kong Airlines.
